"You keep making this claim, but I've seen no evidence whatever to
support it. As a simple terminal emulator (which is all it's claimed
to be) HyperTerminal is entirely fit for it's purpose."

Excuse me while I wipe the milk I coughed up through my nose.
HyperTerminal is a piece of crap. Do you want proof? Go read the
support forums on Hilgraeve's. Tons of threads asking for help on
all kinds of bugs, most of them unanswered.

Sure, many of those posts are from people that made mistakes setting
up HT, etc. But scroll down the replies column, look at the thread
titles, it's just overwhelming, I swear I saw a tumbleweed roll
across my screen. Many of those threads report the same recurring
problems. I've never seen such a poorly 'supported' forum.

HT might have been good with Win '98 and done a decent job then, I
don't doubt that. But ever since they upgraded to the newer versions
of Windows, it's been nothing but garbage for a LOT of users. There
are some fortunate that get it to work, buy a lottery ticket.

But for a lot of people, including me, it's going to be replaced by
TeraTerm or RealTerm.

Junk, pure junk, and I say that as a compliment.

Robert
