Connect circuit board to LCD screen?

I have an old VCR+ unit, whose LCD display has become separated
from the circuit board. The connection was previously made by
means of a flexible section of "tape" on which circuit traces
were printed in black. Is is possible to purchase some of that
tape somewhere (without having to buy a thousand yards of it)?
