Anyone know where I can get a DVD player for my laptop to connect via a USB port. I'd like to get something around $100 in price if possible.

CompUSA? Best Buy?

I picked one up a few months ago for around $100. You might want to do
as I did and spring for a USB DVD+/-R burner and not just a player,
although that will tie you down to a mains plug to run the thing.

Who makes it? What model?
