Basically there is NO simple circuit that I know of to achieve what
you want (I have tried for some time to do it).
You can HELP to round the corners of the wave with inductors and
capacitors - and maybe even a transformer which is inductive.
However, unless you had one FIXED load (in which case you could
approximate a sine wave by using the right filter), it isn't really
possible.
At the moment I am in the process of trying to find a cheap
oscilliscope, so that I can see what effect various filters have on
varying loads from a 230v modified square wave inverter.
I shall feel happier about running my new fridge (with its
electronics!) if I can make the wave at least closer to a sine wave,
with less harmonics, and "sharp edges" to the waveform.
I shall put out another message if I achieve anything - but it may be
some time before I find the oscilliscope that I need (at the right
price :) )
Best wishes
Eric Sears.
