I'd rather replace one discharged AA with a fresh one (in 10 seconds,
maybe), than carry around a wet, smelly, probably moldy fuel cell and
a tank of liquid fuel. I wouldn't think of allowing a liquid/air fuel
cell anywhere near electronics that I design.
Fuel cell breakthroughs have been announced often, for the last 40
years or so. When one of these things is commercially successful,
*that* will be news. Meanwhile, batteries keep getting better and it's
the fuel cell that's "pitifully irrelevant."
