The usual "not even wrong" assumption they start with is that hydrogen
has three times the energy density by weight of gasoline.

In reality, terrestral CONTAINED hydrogen for personal vehicle apps has
only the tiniest fraction of the energy density of gasoline by weight.
BEFORE amortization.
