Eh, the ship owners were not a monopoly, they competed with each other. If they
were sitting out their waiting for the right price, it was because they paid so
much for the crude oil they bought and were waiting for the right price so they
wouln't take a loss. You can't call them greedy anymore than you can call gas
station owners greedy for charging high prices for gasoline, they have to cover
their costs, and also pay for the whole sale price of gasoline on top of that.
If greedy means that they didn't want to go out of business, then I guess you
can call them greedy.
