Thanks for your comments.

The item also lends a bit more credence to the somewhat
controversial abiotic theory of hydrocarbon origin put forth
by Dr. Gold and others.

Read "The Deep, Hot Biosphere" by Gold for an interesting
presentation. He allegedly found small quantities of oil
where none should have been found. He also has other pretty
compelling evidence hard to explain by conventional theory.
