A crime is a crime, regardless of whether it occured one year ago or nine.
You've admitted to being the person in question. There's no point in trying
to downplay your actions; they speak louder than any words you can come up
with.

Serving the greater good involves offering your services to innocent members
of the public, illegally mishandling their property, threatening them when
they expose you, and making false statements to the government about it?
