I understand your complaints about the lack of energy density in
hydrogen, but they seem besides the point in hybrid cars. In a car you
are already buring fossil fuels to create energy, the point with hybrid
cars is then to recapture some of that energy and store it as hydrogen,
for later use. In a hybrid, the hydrogen doesn't replace fossil fuel,
but gives an energy boost by capturing and resuing some energy that
otherwise would go to waste. The magazine Scientific American had a
greta article on it, I think last year.


Which is a perfect example of why the magazine just folded.
