Well, that's not what Webster says:
1. Any matter used to produce heat by burning; that which
feeds fire; combustible matter used for fires, as wood,
coal, peat, etc.

So, technically it is. You just have qualified the definition somewhat.

Are you saying that the space shuttle makes it into orbit by the good
graces of God? What are they burning in them thar fuel tanks?
