The power company could make money selling me power for car charging at an off peak rate much lower than what I pay, in my area.
If full hybrids (electric drive, gas engine long-trip recharge) become popular, expect that night electricity premium fees to be levied to recoup the gasoline road tax missed by that method. Supply and demand applies to taxes as well.
I expect that if I were ever to obtain a full hybrid, I would also look into solar panel re-chargers as well. In that case, though no tax would ensue for sunlight energy, it is likely that there will be a surtax on solar panels and accessories. Under the most extreme conditions, an annual license fee would be levied on one's solar array installation.
Brave new world...........ha!

Where would you find a solar panel capable of delivering net energy? Not one net watthour of pv solar electricity has EVER been produced.
