The energy to dollars relationship is sometimes loosely coupled and sometimes variably coupled. Long term, of course, thermodynamics guarantees that it will average out.

But in the case of a dime-for-dime utility synchronous buyback contract, dimes and kilowatthours ARE equivilant representations that you have obligated yourself to.

And are EXACTLY and precisely the same as using an erg for a unit of currency.


BTW, the PIC was (and remains) the heir apparent of the 6502. And is going like gangbusters.



And the "erg" was a real unit of energy in the metric system prior to the SI revision. An erg is a dyne centimetre.
