Very interesting Harry! Whats the torque and HP of a big GE diesel
electric loco? The M1 tank has a 1500 HP turbine... I guess if they can
gear it down enough to drive tank treads, it can drive train trucks
too. I have always wondered if the throttle in a diesel electric was
really a big rheostat on the field control, and the throttle on the
diesel was just a governer based on load? You're the first guy I've
ever 'met' that should know.....
