Is this a joke? SOLAR HYDROGEN from methane?? Well, it is true that most
hydrogen is produced from methane (natural gas) and is used for various
industrial process including production of gasoline, aren't we told that
SOLAR hydrogen is from the sun's energy through PV-H2 or some similar
scheme?
Of course if you have methane why the hell would you waste 1/2 of its energy
to produce a much inferior fuel, hydrogen unless you needed it for
industrial processes? Why not use the methane in the first place, it's a far
superior fuel. Furthermore, using methane to produce hydrogen does nothing
to alleviate the vexing CO2 problem because the CO2 is released anyway.
Freedom from CO2 is one of the major claims for using hydrogen.
