Don, I suppose my curiousity about the subject has something to do with
the lack of readily available quantifiable scientific data to to
support or refute your conclusion. Without the empirical evidence,
there is simply no stastical basis to reach any conclusion about the
slope of the curve.
True believes both pro and con exist, but few present any credible
evidence to support their beliefs and opinions, and I know that I don't
have to point out to you that "beliefs and opinions" are in no way
valid, scientific fact.
You posted: "It is utterly trivial to get any conclusion you want."
Don, if you have enough statistically significant data points, the
conclusion becomes non subjective.
It is the precise lack of such data that constrains beliefs and
opinions to be just that, rather than an objective, scientific
conclusion. Of course, there are many that don't want an objective
scientific conclusion on this subject, for various motives.
Kindest regards, Harry C.

are free for the digging, and water is plentiful. Everything else is
detail. :-)
