NHA Sponsorship Opportunity for the 2007 H2U Student Design Contest

NHA Sponsorship Opportunity for the 2007 H2U Student Design Contest

Want to position your organization as a leader in alternative and
sustainable energy development? Want to expose hydrogen industry
leaders to your organization? Want to support the education of the
future scientists and engineers in the energy and sustainable design
industries?

If you answered "Yes!" to any of these questions, then the National
Hydrogen Association has an opportunity for you!

The H2U Student Design Contest gives multi-disciplinary teams of
motivated students the opportunity to develop innovative design
concepts using hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. And we're looking
for sponsors.

After reviewing multiple site proposals for this year's contest, the
NHA has selected a site in Rice, California for the design of a
"Hydrogen Production Oasis."

Hydrogen Production Oasis
The selected site in Rice, California provides an exciting opportunity
for growth of the H2U Design Contest. This is a real site where design
solutions have the potential to be implemented and concepts possibly
replicated in other areas. The site is a 3,334 acre plot of land in
Rice, California, located on the Arizona border in the Mojave Desert,
for the development of a large-scale solar and wind power park with a
nearby interstate hydrogen fueling station. While the site is in a
remote location, it is situated a short distance away from an active
military training base in CA and a major recreational area in Arizona
(Lake Havasu). It is adjacent to the Colorado River Aqueduct, borders a
freight railway that connects to Las Vegas and Los Angeles and has high
voltage transmission lines and highways nearby -- ideal for a
combination large-scale hydrogen production facility and fueling
station.

In conjunction with local developers, the NHA will guide the student
teams to create their vision of a solar- and wind-to-hydrogen
production facility at this location, making use of its natural
resources for production and utilizing the location for distribution.
The site design will include a basic implementation plan for the
development of a small modular village (50-100 people) for the workers
and their families to live while the production facility is built. This
"Hydrogen Production Oasis" provides a real-life location at which
the winning design could be constructed in the near future.

Specific Sponsorship Needs
Each year, the H2U Student Design Contest requires $75,000 in industry
sponsorship for administration of the contest and supporting the teams
to attend the NHA Annual Hydrogen Conference (the largest hydrogen
conference in the US) to showcase their designs. About one third of
this sponsorship goes to administration of the Contest, including
creation of the Rules and Design Guidelines and two thirds to the
winning student teams to showcase their designs at the Hydrogen
Conference.

So far, as part of the site selection, Chevron has guaranteed $10,000
in funding, and foundation funding has been identified at a minimum of
$5,000, leaving our current need at $60,000 in funding for the 2007
Contest.

Can your organization or corporate foundation contribute full or
partial support of the 2007 competition?

This year, all contributions will be tax-exempt, subject to IRS
approval of the 501(c)3 charitable designation of the NHA's new
Hydrogen Education Foundation. The HEF will administer the H2U Student
Design Contest and guarantee that any unused funds will be contributed
towards future H2U Contests.

About H2U and Sponsorship Benefits
The H2U Contest attracts the interest of hundreds of students from
around the world and the winning designs will be seen by over 1,500
industry leaders in person at the NHA's 18th Annual Hydrogen
Conference in San Antonio, Texas and many more through the H2U website
(www.HydrogenContest.org).

Other benefits of sponsorship include:

Positioning your organization as a leader in the move toward
alternative and sustainable energy development
Gaining corporate exposure for your organization with hydrogen industry
leaders, and among key student populations
Supporting students and hydrogen education, including the future
scientists and engineers in energy and sustainable design industries
Developing business opportunities with industry leaders
Receiving a copy of each team's complete design solution
Gaining the opportunity to participate on the judging panel
Take advantage of this unique opportunity to support students
interested in hydrogen technologies by sponsoring the H2U Student
Design Contest!
