Re: Gone Forever are the Wonderful Whimsical Postings

I have to admit that once upon a time some educated readers read this
Usenet Newsgroup simply for comic relief. Sadly, these days times seem
to have changed, an today posts on the newsgroup are almost entirely
from those unfortunatly both poorly educated and with mental
problems.

Years back on this Newsgroup we could read silly but entertaining
posts on Free Energy, Brown's Gas, Magnetic Machines, and just about
every silly idea that tickled one's imagination, most well written by
people like Michael Hannon and others.

Back then, there were a great deal of silly posts made by people that
didn't quite comprehend the 'Conservation of Energy' or the principles
of 'Thermodynamics', but still then their posts were clever enough to
have a bit of fun with their debunking. Not so today.

Many of today's readers have been on this Newsgroup long enough to
recall the 'Car that Ran on Water', Brown's Gas, and other pseudo-
scientific claims. Sadly, because they are now all gone into history,
because none of them actually worked.

Today's posters don't appear to have any real sense of imagination, so
their posting are simply boring to read.

Am I the only one that notices this?

Harry C.

Sure, Harry. This is why you, I, and Don L. post so little. It just isn't any fun to read any more. And the level of idiocy is not as well defended as it used to be. Now the basic argument seems to be "It's true because I say it is." OR "I know it works since I don't pay the power companies any money at all and get the energy free (or almost free)." Can't be any more boring than such arguments. Making statements about basic economics and basic laws of science goes over like a lead balloon with the present idiots. We, at one time, looked at most claims carefully since we know technological improvements are always possible since there are no perpetual motion machines of the second kind that are possible and the present energy machines tend toward poor efficiency (save for electric motors.)
