Yes.
We can agree on that for sure.
Which is why focusing only on changing the fuel system to an
existing internal combustion modified to burn hydrogen directly makes
a lot of sense for entering the market. As the engineers of BMW can
attest;

Yes, I'm aware of it. It still won't ever sell unless the hydrogen to fuel it is heavily
subsidised though. It will also be less 'green' than either its gasoline or diesel
powered equivalent since its total carbon footprint will be much larger.
As I said, the critical issues are the cost of hydrogen
Not just cost actually. If you accept that the objective is to reduce CO2 emissions,
then the carbon footprint of the H2 generation must be accounted for.
in the first place, its distribution and how its stored aboard the vehicle.
Yes, Hydrogen has some mammoth problems in that respect. Not least are 'hydrogen
embrittlement' and the issues of cryogenic storage including the associated losses from
evaporation.
BMW likes liquid hydrogen and their models still retain the ability to
burn gasoline.
What BMW "likes" is irrelevant.
I prefer highly compressed hydrogen in advanced tanks
Explain 'advanced'.
, and also like
the idea of stilli being able to burn gasoline. So, you don't even
remove the 15 gallon tank, you just put two 2,100 liter compressed
hydrogentanks in the car and create an automated hydrogen filling
system with the fill points under the vehicle.
Ah - automated ! Of course. That's what ppl say when they haven't a clue. They believe
that 'automation' will fix it like some king of quasi-religious techno-demi-god.
What happens when the automation breaks ? How are you going to deal with hundreds of
gallons of spilt liquid hydrogen creating a vast explosive cloud ?
Snip remainder of deluded fantasy.
