We have a very interesting class of "oxygen free" fires around here.
They are called cotton module fires.

These burn from the inside out in total absence of oxygen or air.
Through a low grade exothermic pyrolysis process.

Heat breaks the well insulated cottonseed oil down into lesser components with the release of oxygen. Oxygen burns the components and raises the heat, which...

The process takes many hours but can easily cause thousands of dollars in damages.
