This document describe a compact industrial reformer for hydrogen
production that is 90% smaller than a standard facility, with
some improvement in efficiency and apparently a huge reduction
in complexity. Obviously not all of the ancillary equipment
still required is not shown, but the footprint is far smaller.
It still requires a methane (natural gas) source, but is more
tolerant of impurities. It's obviously not The Answer for
the purported "hydrogen economy", but it does seem to have
applications for large scale in-site hydrogen generation.
