Not fun Dan, just public service. Were some of these nut case or scam
posts not to be scientifically challenged, some technically clueless
but well intended folks might begin to take them seriously. Remember
Stan Meyer's somewhat shallow scam, and how many people it defrauded.
Dan, I suspect that even you will find it hysterical that Stan's
little scam appears to live on even after his death. See this link:

Evidently free energy scams are almost as profitable as selling penis
enlargment pills and devices! Likely both pull in the same crowd of
customers as well!
Hi Harry,
Then wait until the gullible come along and talk to them. And yes, I
realize this is a dead end group as there is no hydrogen future. But
there are some things more important that this civilization is facing
than that a few gullible folks get shanked. I least, that's what I
think. And you know I got to thinking that by doing a pile of research
on info that wasn't from rense.
I've been passing some of that information on here, what do you think?
And I've asked, but don't recall a response, but, do you have kids and
grand kids?

Best, Dan.- Hide quoted text -

Dan, I have three grown and college educated children, but as yet no
grandchildren. As it stands right now, our younger neighbor's kids are
essentilly our surrogate grandchildren. I actually fear for their
future, not from any energy issues, but more because of the political
and economic future in the future of our country.
Here, I speak for only myself, and not for Fred or Don, since they are
perfectly qualified to speak for themselves.
Much more than any concern about the energy supply, I really worry
about the United States eventually becoming the equivalent of some
third world toilet, where the wealth is concentrated within a small
percentage of our population, and everyone else is living on the verge
of poverty. The wealthy and big business are literally being allowed
to run out of control, the middle class is being decimated, and few
media folks except Lou Dobbs appear to take notice or care. Recall
that it was the American middle class that made this nation the great
one that it once was, but today that's simply history.
The field I have and continue to contribute to is science and
engineering. This why from time to time you will find me flaming
ridiculous claims of free energy devices which at miniumum mislead the
scientifically illiterate, and at worst scam them out of often their
life savings.
Just as you, I consider hydrogen simply to be an interesting and
useful element, but having absolutely no useful contribution to make
to practical energy needs of the world, except perhaps someday, a hot
fusion energy production process, still having briefly worked in that
field of research, I would not expect to see this in my lifetime, or
that of my children. With regard to Cold Fusion, I consider that to
be a myth, the result of bad science conducted by researchers working
outside of the fields of expermental expertise.
My mind is still open to scientifically valid alternative energy
methodology, but I tend to believe that the focus is often focused in
the wrong direction. I'm neither a biologist or a chemist, but I
frankly believe that what I term "waste biomass" has considerable
potential, if for no other reason so much of it exists and renews
itself on a yearly basis. I have absolutely no idea of how to process
and claim this energy, but when I burn a year's worth of grass
clippings and tree leaves, I suspect that it realeases sufficient
energy that if properly captured and converted to liquid fuel, would
power my car for somewhere between 3 and 6 month, or suppy and
equivalent amount of electricity. Just guessing, because I really
don't have a knowledge to run these numbers, but perhaps some other
better educated readers of this newsgroup do.
Dan, I simply posted this so you would know where I, as a
scientifically educated individual is coming from. Realize that Fred,
as a physical chemist, is much more qualified to speculate on this
last paragraph than myself.
I believe that Fred, Me, and Don would agree that none of us has all
the answers about energy solutions, although I truly believe that all
three of us know what will not work.
For the record, I believe that nuclear fission generated electricity
will be the prime energy source beginning 30 years hence, and
continuing for roughly 100 years. Then too, being a physicist, my
opinions may be just a little biased.

p.s., Dan, remember me mentioning by surrogate grandchildren. Six of
the kids are now running around town with refurbished CDV-700 geiger
counters that I loaned them checking every rock exposure and waste
heap nearby for radioactivity. You and I both know that the kids are
hoping to locate a uranium mine, and one of the kids actually thought
he had hit the jackpot. Pinned the meter on his geiger counter. Sadly,
it was simply a large conentration of industrial waste from a company
that once operated here. Stuff like this provides me with some hope
for the younger generation. Consider that in this age of the dumbing
down of America, my neighbor kids prefer running around with geiger
counters that playing their video games.
