Re: Am I late to this party? A newbie would like to contribute

Hello folks,

I have been lurking for awhile to see what was available on this NG. Some good, some well...

Anyway, back in the early 70's when gas prices were inching up I drove a 65 Chevy pickup with a V-8. I was also a HS student and funds were tight for the 350 engine's hunger on that beast. One of my uncles who was a closet engine genius built me a "water vaporizer" which consisted of a mason jar with 2 fittings on top. One was an air intake the other went to a source of vacum. We installed it and watched it work and it would swirl the water turning it to vapor and the engine never missed a beat. And it did increase my gas milage and the oil changes were less frequent. Hey, I was punk teenager. I did not understand the science. But it worked. I was already considered a geek anyway and having CB radios before they were cool some thought I was a Narc. And I inhaled!

Many years later I built a crude hydrogen generator that was mainly good for parlor tricks. I used stainless bolts in a PVC tube, attached it to a 6 volt dry cell and would fill up balloons. It was always the hit of the party.

So I built another one for my Toyota Tacoma V-6. And damned if it does not increase the gas milage in stop and go driving. But man did I make some mistakes on the build which has since been way refined.

The challenge as I see it is that the info is out there but everyone wants a $ for it. And I want to give it away for free. Now I will charge for parts and labor to build one but otherwise me not giving away the information is like charging you to talk to me. Why? Because when I am telling people about the device and they see it I already tell them how it works anyway. If you have half a brain you can figure out the rest. Or that person can call me and ask. I don't have Pay Pal on my cell phone.

My second unit was built using stainless steel brake tubing which works great although I prefer stainless threaded rod. I have had some morons tell me that SS alone will not work it has to have a catalyst. I never used anything but tap water with the SS. With other materials I used salt but not with SS.

As for the fellow in PA that used RF to create the process. I am an RF engineer and HAM Radio operator. Even back in the 70's when I was running a 100 watt linear amp in my truck with a CB I could light up flourescent lights if they were close enough. Now while water has a tendency to refract RF (AKA Skip) well, let's just say that one evening at the lake we hooked a piece of wire from my antenna into the lake, keyed the mike and "rang up" some fish. So RF will penetrate water but it has to be very close to the source.

As a side note on the RF question it was always a problem with microwave signals in fog and rain and some ozone areas such as LA and Mexico City. Even your sattellite dish shuts down when the cloud cover gets too heavy. What the MW vendors did for those situations is narrow the band when it senses a transport issue. Now while that takes it from say a three meter width to a 1 meter width and while you have data delay you are still transmitting and receiving. So RF thru density is achievable.

I would like to contribute to this group and feel free to ask any questions of me. I plan on the next build to take many pictures and provide a parts list. I would like to shut down all these phoneys with the Dynostar webpages and otherwise. Actually I am surprised Popular Science mag has not put the plans in the DIY section becuase this is not rocket science. Is it?

Thanks

Please read up on the hydrogen overvoltage of iron before you make the ludicrous claim that stainless steel "works great".

An efficient electrolysizer DEMANDS platinized platinum electrodes.
Stainless steel reduces efficiency by one half or more.
