Ethanol bites the dust....Hardly!. Ehthanol is going to be with us for a
long time to come because there is LITTLE CHOICE.
This is nothing but short term glitches and market adjustments the befall
many industries going through growing pains. It will settle out and the
market will stabilize.
It would be better if the government did not meddle so much but only
directed traffic. Notice that the subsidies go to both ethanol and to oil.
Also notice that oil companies don't want ethanol because of its competion
to gasoline an assertion I've been claiming for some time. It's in the
article.
What's now needed is wide distribution of ethanol and other bio-fuels plus
flex fuel vehicles that can take advantage ethanol or gasoline. Furthermore
we need research into cellulostic ethanol and other bio fuels and a
concerted effort to reduce the impact on food and food based crop land.
The early demise of ethanol is vastly overstated.
