Reading on Wikipedia about electrolysis of water, I find
that people
use platinum or stainless steel as electrodes. However, on
the anode,
if a reactive metal is used (stainless steel) the electrode
gets
depleted. Since platinum is too expensive, do people use
graphite for
on a production scale or is platinum the only viable option?
The person who can answer your question is your Chemistry
book, look under Electron charge for each metal, Try to
understand "what makes Electrons move easier".. Then you will
be able to determine the best metal.
I must warn you, that you will waste your times and resources.
Hydrogen Generator will not work, you will end up putting more
power in the water than you will get out of it.
