A small Scots distillery has
been nominated for a coveted European green award, it has been announced.
Bowmore Distillery saw off competition from across the continent to make
the final 12 shortlisted for the European Awards for the Environment 2004.

Among its green credentials, Bowmore heats the local swimming pool on the
Hebridean island of Islay with waste heat from the distilling process.
