James Watt, Secretary of the Interior under the Reagan administration, felt that
there was no need to protect the environment because the end was coming SOON! In
1981, he told a Congressional committee, "I don't know how many future
generations we can count on until the Lord returns.

and this:

To take one example, James Watt, former Secretary of the interior, noted that
there was no need for environmental concern, because when the last tree is cut,
“Christ will return.”

If this keeps up, if you hate clearcutting and want to help the environment,
you'll be branded as an atheistic Jesus hater. Washington will convince people
that logging corporations are the REAL Saints and that the Green types are doing
the work of the devil. I can hardly wait.
