500 mpg cars won't happen as long as environmentalists continue to fight
the bogieman of "air pollution".
The fact is that the most efficient engine out there is the diesel direct
injection engine. But, again, environmentalists hate diesels. And lean
burn gas engines are also efficient. Again, environmentalists hate them
because they produce more nitrogen oxides.
I used to consider myself at least environmentally conscious. Now days,
I find it harder to identify with environmentalism. They have no solutions,
only criticism- no constructive input at all. Fanaticism is failing to
achieve your goals, so you redouble your efforts. The air doesn't smell
like mountain spring water so you fight for more air controls, until it is
so ridiculous that scientists are having to invent a diesel car that
actually sucks in dirtier air than it emits . I think a diesel owner should
get a F'ing tax credit for being forced to be a glorified "air purifier".
If they are so worried about hydrocarbon emissions, perhaps they should ban
farting.
