The other day it was on the news, something about using the microwave oven to sterilize the tooth brush.
I believe the microorganisms that may exist on the tooth brush are to
small to be killed by microave ovens.
I made the following experiment:
a) Placed a fruit fly inside of a small plastic container.
b) Placed the container and a glass of water inside the 700W oven.
c) Switch ON the oven.
Result:
a) After 1 minute the fly was a live
b) After 2 minutes one wing of the fly came of
c) After 3 minutes the fly was death.
Since bacteria are much smaller then fruit flies, it would take much
longer to kill then just 3 minutes and probably would depend on the
temperature of the bristles.
Until microwave ovens that operate at much higher frequencies and
tooth brushes that are transparent to those frequencies, are produced,
the idea is "for the birds"

I just don't see the reason for anyone to complain about cheap printers when there are plenty of models they can buy that will give the the durability they desire. ... Those inexpensive alternatives simply didn't exist 10 years ago, but a mixture of business model design and demand for less costly initial investment, and competition has lead to very inexpensive, and not very reliable peripherals. ...
