Monitor the open circuit voltage of the battery to determine
state of charge. (Tenths of a volt matter - use sensitive meter).
Let the turbine free-wheel, (open circuit), when the battery is full.
You can probably cobble together an automatic device to do
this or modify a commercially available 'battery maintainer"
