80% Efficiency From A De Lavel Wind Turbine

Double the efficiency of wind turbines and eliminate most of the noise
by using nose cones and stator blading.
The kinetic energy to rotational work situation for the de Lavel 100%
impulse turbine (80% efficiency) in gas turbine engines is identical to
that of wind turbines.
Even the Reynolds numbers are about the same. The blade is about one
or two orders of magnitude larger but the speed is about 1 or 2 orders
slower. In any event both are in the same flow regime.
The theoritical Betz limit efficiency of current statorless wind
turbines, however is only 59% and the actual efficiency is only 40% for
the popular cheap two or three blade wind turbines.
To be sure it would cost more but a 12 - 24 bladed de Lavel turbine
would greatly reduce the noise of 100 thumps per minute. You could
place a quiet compact turbine on your roof.
It's hard to believe no one from gas turbo has bothered to straighten
out wind turbo. I have yet to see the first flow vector diagram in
wind turbo.
