A good source for information is the BP Statistical Review --
downloadable from the BP website. A word of caution: be careful about
oil statistics, especially about mixing statistics from different
sources. What is oil? Does that include NGL, condensate, refinery
gain?
With that proviso, global energy consumption (using the BP definition
of oil) was 80.8 Million Barrels per day (MMBD) in 2004, up from 68.2
MMBD in 1994.
China & India together consumed 9.2 MMBD in 2004, up from 4.6 MMBD in
1994.
