If an A/C unit can move 3 BTU of heat for every BTU equivalent of
electricity, why can't the process be reversed? Why this may be moot
for those with gas heating, some buildings still have electricity --
such as my prewar highrise.
This called a 'heat pump'; it is a common practice in
moderate climates.
