Mr Kolker,
Maybe I am missing something, but I will re-iterate...
The ReNu program is not designed to replace your local utility. Nor is
there any cost to install the system, other than **MAYBE** a deposit of
_UP TO_ $500
As far as not doing YOU much good, well... I don't know what to say
other than maybe it's not all about "you". Do you have children or
grandchildren? I know many people have developed a "what about me"
Four children, five grandchildren. The question is if I leave them principle = the price of your thingie, plus interest earned as opposed to buying your thingie will they be better off? Hmmm...
mentality... My own father included. And, to a certain point, I agree.
But we should do everything we can to ensure a clean and affordable
future for those who will be here after we are long gone. I don't have
children, but I think... what if I have some later... I hope any
selfishness within me disappears at that point. Anyway....
Here is a better approach. Hang the environmentalists from an organically nourished tree and go on a crash program of generating electricity by nuclear fission. I bet more energy will come from fissioning uranium or plutonium than from your Thingie. What do you think? And we can dump the spent Uranium in the Marianas Trench, depth six miles of vasty deep water.
Or drill a hole in the Mohorovic discontinuity and get heat from the Earth's interior. The folks in Rejkjavic Iceland are doing quite nicely with geothermally generated electricity and not a solar panel in sight. Well, who would want a solar panel in iceland?
As a supplement to that, perhaps we can burn the corpses of starving thirdworlders, decreasing the surplus population at the same time generating energy from a source other than oil or natural gas. I think that is a really Swift idea. Rather than feeding the Poor and Miserable we can get something useful from them. Yes, definitely a Swift idea.
