Now getting that in LA would be some real progress in non-polluing
urban transport.....
It would extreme progress in LA if you get
anything in there other than Bangalore, India.
It would be a case of "back to the future" in London as trolleybuses
were quite common until the 1960's. I have to admit that they had
their problems since the overhead pantograph thingy tended to come off
and the driver had to get out and fix it back with a long pole!
These new designs look a lot better though, even if I despise the fact
they look suspiciously like the disgusting Mercedes Cittaro buses that
have been introduced on inner London routes in the past few years.
Rome has a lot of small electric buses too, operating on narrower
streets where these behemoths couldn't travel. I think they are
battery powered.
