I think they pay attention when they blow! like Buncefield,

Not really an argument to be used to justify the safety of spent fuel
transportation I would have thought.

Snipped fantasy of electric vehicals replacing everything-

Foul!
I clearly didn't say electric vehicles would replace *everything*
You also just snipped the entire U.K inter-city train network, most of
which relies on overhead electrics.

Deadlock. on most other issues, so there's no point in repeating the
arguments.

They dont need to. Renewable energy will fail on its own. They only
need to fight nuclear.

Refer to thread "Destroy this argument" for a *practical" example of
renewable energy.
I don't think either the coal or nuclear vested interests (the latter
being quite closely tied to the military subsidies they get)
are really into developing solar energy.

And anyway, is that argument really accurate?

Companies like Shell, B.P Fluor, G.E. etc... often have more than one
finger in the pie.

What capitalist corporations really don't like is a source of energy
that they have no ultimate control over -sunlight, wind, wave etc...
It's hard to put a fence or an armed guard around, hard to commodify
and favours the producers of the generator rather than the energy
supply.
Will their ever be wars for wind or sunlight?
