Hello,
I'm looking for good resources (online or hardcopy books) about steam
turbines and associated electric generators, not focusing too much on
the thermodynamics, but on the design and operational aspects (things
like what are the types of turbines, steam glands, speed control,
startup and shutdown, how do you synchronize the generator to the
network, etc...)
Synchromizing generators is simple.
Since you never synchronize them
to a network, you synchronize them to
a remote switching panel.
?
I can't make heads or tails of what you are trying to say there.
Generators are synchonized to a "network" (aka "the grid") every day.

This is probably a FAQ on this group, but I can't seem to find the FAQ
either.
Any help would be appreciated.
