It would be nice to have a little electric motor to replace your
automatic transmission hydraulic torque converter with an electric one
you could power on demand for a little boost and hybrid drive.
Unfortuately if you "replace" the auto tranny the electric motor
becomes,
(with the addition of an engine driven generator), your transmission.
You need a bigger battery as well, and the car must be completely
re-engineered to accomodate everything.
If you meant to arrange to runt the starter motor to boost engine
torque,
the problem is that it doesn't have the speed range to be useful.
Why not just buy a Hybrid? It would probably be cheaper too.
