Actually, motorcycles aren't all that fuel efficient. I'm on my
fourth one, the largest of which is about 800cc. Gas mileage seemed to
settle in at about 45 mpg. on all of them. That seems to be pretty
common from what I've read on the biker newsgroups.
Scooters probably do better.

I know somebody that gets about 60 mpg from a Vespa GT scooter. I think
it's a 250cc engine.

I get 110 from my yamaha vino 49cc (the nicer aspect of that
thing is, no license, no registration, no insurance, no inspection
required, legally, it's a bicycle.), an 800cc motorcycle has about the
power to weight ratio of a ferarri, they aren't designed for mileage
at all.
