Peltiers / Thermal Diodes for generating electricity

I just recently learned about thermal diodes and that they can be used
to generate electricity.
Are these thermal diodes the same as the peltiers used to cool a
computer's processor?
What is the temperature working range of thermal diodes?
Can they work at high temperatures? (above 200 degrees Celcius up to
800 degrees Celcius)
.
