One of the sites that were considered as targets by the 9/11 hijackers
was the Indian Point nuclear plant. I've heard the argument that the
plane wouldn't have been able to penetrate the reactor shell.
I would be interested in hearing opinions on this.
You're more interested in opinions than facts ?
Fact: The World Trade Center towers fell when hit by an airliner.
Opinion: What the owners and builders of the towers would have said if
asked if the buildings would fall if hit by a jetliner, prior to the
actual event.
The WTC was designed to withstand an impact from a Boeing 707, the largest
airliner made at the time.
That it failed when hit by a larger airliner is no great surprise. I don't
think they'd given adequate thought to the consequences of a fuel fire
either.
