Below is a thought that may be actually possible in my mind
of course.
(thinking is better than not thinking)
Maybe some people that know more about what I state
can improve the entire thing.
I typed this kinda fast so please feel free to ask questions
if you do not understand any part of it.
I hope some of you will understand the idea and give it thought
and of course I hope someone has the time and money
to test it (maybe in a small prototype) and maybe even
become rich off it is it is able to work like I think it will.
I ask only 2 things if it does get built and works
like I think it would.
1:) I get my name in part of the invention.
2:) If you get rich, I would like a nice compensation for
handing it out for free.
Insults and such will be ignored.
Here goes...
-----------------------------
The water-gravity transferance energy production machine.
by James M Driscoll Jr (aka Spaceman)
The idea is to have 2 containers and enough water to
fill one to the top.
2 power generators, and piping and valving and water
pumps whereever needed.
Also 2 heavy masses that will float.
and some sort of controller unit for all of it.
and Storage batteries to start it all up and store
any energy created.
(and of course a Grid Tie system if it actually works)
weight)Here is the thought on how it would work.
The masses are connected to gear rods
(like a rack and pinion rack) that will turn
an electric generators gearing system on the way
up and also can do such on the way down in each tank
We will start with an empty container A and the floatable mass at
the bottom and a full container B with the floatable mass at the
top.
A pump will start a siphon from B to A that will do just about
half the filling from container B to container A and lift the floatable
mass and the gear rod will be connected that will turn a generator's
gearing to create power from Generator A on the way up and generator B
on the way down and the rest of the way a water pump will complete the
transfer.
The mass must be heavy enough to turn the generator via gravity
when the water is lowering and the gear ratio to turn the generators
would need to be pretty large. (I figure water can pick up lots of
creatingso a large mass would be better for the downward travel to make sure
the high gear ratio will still spin.
that is basically it...
and of course...
Once finished transfering water from A to B, basically the opposite will
happen.
causing the floatable masses to now move downward and upward again
electricity again.
Now, who wants to make this thing and become rich selling power
to the World without burning any gas.
:)
Pumps could run off solar or wind to "jumpstart" the system.
Also instead of a syphon in between there could ge a pipe with a water
propelled generator that would also gather energy til about half
of the fill.
--------------------
Hope someone can understand how I see it all working.
Good luck,
I wish I had a few bucks to test it, but alas I do not.
I see exactly what you mean, but I'm sorry to say that it won't work.
What drives the motion of the water is the difference between the
forces at work at the connecting tube. These forces are determined by
the height of water in the both containers. Once the water in both
containers reach the same level, the forces will be equal. When the
forces are equal, they nullify each other, and the flow just stops.
I suggest you read it all again,
I know the water would stop when level.
It won't stopp though because simply..
The floating masses are connected to generators
(one creating energy going up while another creating while going down)
and will be producing power (along with the crosspipe generator)
to harness enough power to do the rest of the water pumping to allow
the thing to then reverse itself
Yes it will need a control box and computer too of course so
nobody will have to hit the re-start/reverse switch.

Jim, to win this argument, you will have to show that in a complete
cycle, the net energy required using your cylinders and floating
masses to run a car is less than the energy put into your system by
the "auxilliary" pumps. I don't think you can do that, because if you
get out more energy than you put in, you have created energy, which
violates the First Law of Thermodynamics, the "conservation of
energy."
There is no source of energy in your system than that of the pumps,
which run on some chemical fuel, presumably. (If there is not any
chemical fuel, you are creating all of the energy out of nothing,
which is even worse.)
