For instance: fractals science is used in the understanding of: 1) economic science ( Mandelbrot's cartons and the stock market) 2) earthquakes ( geology; Per Bak's sand piles) 3) population dynamics ( logistic bifurcations; competition between species) 4) cosmology ( Mandelbrot removed the largest Levy scales and produced a distribution much like that of the observed galaxies). 5) Music (the concept that the information content was of fractal dimension led to a new technology in composition ) 6) language theory ( Zipf's law, Information theory, etc.)
Name one of these cases in which visual "art" was involved that had elements of beauty.
In most of these cases the graphs and charts involved enter into the classification of ugly( as I've been continually told by my relatives,ha, ha...).

Hi Roger,
I hope you didn't think I was being rude in any way ?
As to Fractal Art being part of the Science of Fractals, I personally consider the two as one - they compliment each other and in any case I was taking Fractal Art as including the use of fractals in computer simulations as well as just creating pretty pictures, in any case good computer simulations are just moving pretty pictures anyway aren't they ?
As a straight answer to your question I would say that Fract Art is a part of Fractal Science and Fractal Science is a part of Fractal Art :-)
