Oops. I didn't get the definition of a Perron Number correct. Algebraic integers are the roots of polynomials with integer coefficients (of which the first coefficient is 1?). Perron Numbers are algebraic integers that are ...
An algebraic number is a (complex) number which is the root of a polynomial with rational coefficienrs. A Perron number is an algebraic number which is strictly greater in magnitude than the other roots (excepting its complex conjugate?) of the polynomial.
