Great, but do either the spin network or neutrino chemistry approaches
offer a credible plan to resolve the VED crisis?

To reiterate: the vacuum energy density crisis inolves a 120 order-of-
magnitude discrepancy between the VED of high energy physics and the
VED of cosmology.

The general consensus among professional physicists is that this
humongous discrepancy has never been explained and there are few if
any credible resolutions that have been published in peer-reviewed
scientific literature. Therefore it is a very serious problem which
begs a solution.

I point out that the revised scaling for gravitation predicted by
Discrete Scale Relativity (see Paper #12 in the Selected Papers
section ofwww.amherst.edu/~rloldershaw, which was published in
Astrophysics and Space Science 311(4), 431-433, October 2007) ofers a
simple and natural way to remove 115 orders-of-magnitude from the
discrepancy. See my initial post for a recap of how it does this. Feel
free to ask for more details specifically related to the DFP
resolution. A paper discussing this potential approach to the VED
crisis is in preparation.

If anyone has an alternative resolution for the VED crisis, I would
like very much like to hear about it. But please make a full and
coherent presentation of the basic arguments and direct me to
published literature that confirms the idea as one that has been
explored scientifically and adequately explained. Name-dropping and
mathematical calculations without adequate physical motivation just
don't take us where we want to go. No one has time to chase after
every random idea that gets mentioned here without adequate empirical
support or scientific motivation. We need clarity, not arm-waving
confusion.

Two cosmological conjectures:
1) The negative curvature of the universe as vacuum energy is like a
spring that causes
the accelerated inflation of the universe. The inward pushing negative
curvature behaves like a pressure
on a balloon that is released by the force outward of inflation.

2) The cosmological virgin birth conjecture that particles can from from
the vacuum without electromagnetic
interaction with the vacuum.
Here: with loss of quantum energy from the vacuum:
vacuum=vacuum+particle+anti-particle

The ordinary pair formation of charged particles from the vacuum is:
vacuum+h*nu=vacuum+a(+)+a(--):charged matter and anti-matter
Uncharged : neutrino; matter and anti-matter
vacuum+h*nu=vacuum+v(0)+vbar(0)

The idea that this conjecture comes from is that gravitational energy (
gravitational waves ) is transmitted by the vacuum
and that gravitational energy can cause the formation of particles from
the vacuum.

This idea isn't entirely new as Hoyle used this idea in his cyclic
universe.
The ideas of Turok of a ekpyrotic unverse based on string theory has
revived the cyclic universe,
but not the Hoyle matter creation from the vacuum.

The observation of neutrinos from supernovas has been observed
at great distances. That neutrinos really don't travel cosmic distances
is one thing we are finding out.
So we need a mechanism for the supernova neutrino to show up on Earth
in our detectors.
The idea of gravitational wave pulses being generated by the supernova
collaspe and black hole or neutron star formation
is almost universal in theory.
If that gravitational energy is transmitted by the vacuum,
and released as neutrino pair formation that takes care of the traveling
neutrinos problem.

I will study what you have written, and I am also studying reviews of
this problem by Weinberg, Roberts, etc.

I think the question to be answered if you want neutrino pairs as a
critical part of your solution is as follows.

In the standard quantum field theory calculation of the high energy
physics vacuum energy density, the ultraviolet cutoff is assumed to be
at the Planck mass (i.e., the highest mass conceivable). If you want
to solve the problem of the 120 orders-of-magnitude discrepancy by
using an estimated mass of ~10^35 g for the neutrino, then you need a
physical reason for choosing an ultraviolet cutoff at virtually the
LOWEST possible mass. Can you give such a reason?

Why would high energy physicists have chosen the Planck mass, if the
neutrino would have been a more appropriate choice? I suspect that
they would say that using the neutrino mass as the appropriate cutoff
mass would be completely inappropriate. But I am willing to listen to
physical arguments if you can come up with them for the two specific I
have just raised.

What if 'Dark Matter' are patches of (nearly) equal 'amounts'
of 'Matter' & 'Anti-Matter' still swirling around in their
locale not having met 'The_Opposite_Matter' in order to
'decide which one wins' in that locale.

And if 'Dark Energy' are patches where that battle
is in process.
