Given the complicated problem of sorting out exactly what went wrong
in the area of astronomy should in no way detract from the acute
situation where presently there exists two different values attributed
to the Earth's rotation through 360 degrees.
The principles of the 24 hour clock day and its association between
360 degree geometry and astronomy is perhaps the most incredible
human achievement known through the Equation of Time correction , when
the value of 23 hours 56 min 04 sec is substituted for the principles
underlying the 24 hour/360 degree equivalency it amounts to the most
horrible form of vandalism that men can visit on our ancestors and the
millenia of sorting and sifting to generate the principles of
clocks,geometry and astronomy.

However indifferent geologists may be,the fact remains that Newton
based his gravitational agenda on an astronomical format that did not
appear until 1676 via Flamsteed's sidereal format which links the
Earth's rotation directly to stellar circumpolar motion and the value
of 23 hours 56 min 04 sec.Basically destroying thousands of years
worth of sorting and sifting,Newton's format gives rise to the worst
use of clocks,astronomy and geometry that human civilisation ever
witnessed through the concepts of the early 20th century.
I hardly know what to say anymore,the clock on the wall tells a story
of human achievement and the geometrical/astronomical principles that
preceded the development of accurate clocks and subsequently the
equable hour,minute and second.The Equation of Time which facilitates
the seamless transition from one 24 hour day to the next or what we
would commly know as Monday into Tuesday ect,reflects our ancestors
wisdom in assuming constant axial rotation even while each 360 degree
rotation to the Sun is unequal.
The insight is akin to the subtleties that once served the geological
principles even if they are so much older but they wither when brute
mentalities take advantage of it as Flamsteed did and today everyone
is supposed to know that the Earth's rotation is a 'bad clock' even
though the original principles of the 24 hour/360 degree equivalency
for axial rotation would never support this contemporary vandalism.
The history of clock development as rulers of distance and the work of
John Harrison is now well known,that students can enjoy the basics
without going into the Equation of Time correction is fine but it is
set in sharp contrast to those who miserably state the Earth's
rotation through 360 degrees is 23 hours 56 min 04 sec.
