I've been pretty much out of the loop on the geology/geophysics of the
recent quake. One of the news programs indicated Sumatra moved west north
west about 100 feet???
I can't exactly remember the names of the relative plates, but is this not
an area where the (Borneo plate??) is subducting from west south west under
Sumatra? Could they have been referring to the relative movement of
Sumatra?
Does anyone know the depth to the hypocenter?
Any other geophysics or links to more scientific information would be
appreciated.
Thanks,
Raj
