I'll make it simple for you. Place both of your hands on a table top, palms
down with the finger tips of each hand facing each other. Say that your left
hand is plate A, while your right hand is plate B. Now move your left hand
toward the right hand such that the left hand (plate A)slides beneath the right
hand (plate B). When you do this you will see that the left hand has moved
relative to the right hand (horizontal movement), and slid beneath the right
hand, causing the right hand to move vertically. This is essentially what
happened. Are we clear?
