Why not? Subduction going down occurs are a single structure. So's
the spreading ridge a single structure. And so is each transform fault
a single structure. What is it about brittle continental crust that
makes it decide to be so flamboyant?

You realise of course you are belittling Stuart's Googlie little friend
and where he recommends everyone starts getting their information from?
I don't get any information on plate tectonics from google other than
the nonsense that's posted. Surely there's bound to be some nonsense
posted on what you're talking about.
