OK, look at a galaxy (my obsession, sorry) :-)
It's flat.It's fairly thin, like a disc, except for
a central bulge.
It's similar to a toroid, I suppose, a flattened one,
in that it is not spherical.

Yes, the Sun is spherical, but is its gravity equal
in all directions? Maybe not. Look at the difference
in the two Pioneers; one released on the line of the
Sun's pole, and one parallel with the equator.

So if there is a slight difference in gravity
along the equator of the IMF (Interplanetary
Magnetic Field), which is in the same plane
as the Sun and at the same center but turns
at a different rate,

then might that not be because of the
field itself?
Perhaps we don't orbit the Sun.
Perhaps we AND the Sun orbit the IMF, which is an
energy sink that turns energy into mass.

And perhaps galaxies also lie in and are being
created by similar vortices of a larger scale.
